Raw Material Processing Production Line Equipment and Process for Carbon Plants

The carbon industry is a core supporting sector of the aluminum industry. The quality of carbon products directly affects the operating efficiency, product quality, and production costs of electrolytic aluminum production. The raw material processing production line in a carbon plant is a key upstream process of carbon production, mainly responsible for raw material inspection and storage, pretreatment, and preparation before calcination. The overall process is centered on crushing, screening, conveying, and feeding. Through dedicated process equipment, the raw materials are processed precisely to provide qualified materials with compliant particle sizes and specifications for the subsequent calcination process.

I. Crushing Process

After the raw materials enter the plant, they first pass through a receiving hopper equipped with a grizzly structure for preliminary screening, which initially removes oversized materials and impurities. The materials are then sent to coarse crushing equipment for the initial crushing operation. After coarse crushing, the materials are transferred to secondary fine-crushing equipment for further particle-size reduction, laying the foundation for subsequent screening and classification. The core technical control point of the entire crushing process is precise control of material particle size, which must strictly comply with the batching standards for carbon production.

The mainstream crushing equipment used in the industry includes jaw crushers, hammer crushers, impact crushers, and toothed double-roll crushers. Each type of equipment has a clearly defined function and can be flexibly combined according to raw material hardness, particle size, and production requirements to perform coarse crushing, fine crushing, and classification operations. This effectively controls the quality of material crushing and reduces problems such as over-crushing and uneven particle sizes.

II. Screening Process

The screening process is a key stage for classifying raw materials and ensuring scientifically controlled batching. Professional screening equipment is used to precisely separate the crushed mixed materials into aggregates and powders of different particle sizes according to process requirements, while removing unqualified materials. This ensures that the particle size and specifications of various raw materials fully meet the batching requirements for carbon products, thereby ensuring accurate production ratios and stable product performance in subsequent processes.

In carbon production applications, vibrating screens are the most widely used equipment due to their large processing capacity, high screening efficiency, stable operation, and strong adaptability. According to specific fine-processing requirements, rotary screens and gyratory screens can also be used to accommodate different operating conditions, such as coarse-material pre-screening and fine-material screening.

III. Conveying and Feeding Process

The conveying and feeding system runs throughout the entire raw material processing process. It is mainly responsible for material transfer between different process stages, quantitative feeding during the batching process, and the conveying and storage of qualified finished materials. Considering the high dust levels and strict sealing requirements in carbon raw material processing, the production line uses enclosed and sealed conveying and feeding equipment to effectively prevent dust from escaping and improve the working environment, while ensuring continuous, stable, and controllable material conveying.

The main supporting equipment includes bucket elevators, sealed belt conveyors, enclosed belt scraper conveyors, double-layer conveyors, tubular screw conveyors, and enclosed vibrating feeders. Through coordinated operation, these types of equipment can meet various process requirements, including vertical lifting, horizontal conveying, quantitative feeding, and multi-point discharge, enabling automated and continuous operation throughout the entire raw material processing process.

Introduction to Carbon Plant Raw Material Processing Production Lines and Equipment

Carbon is a key supporting material for the aluminum industry. The quality of carbon products directly affects the operating efficiency and production costs of electrolytic aluminum production. The raw material processing process in a carbon plant is mainly responsible for raw material inspection and storage and raw material preparation before calcination. The core process consists of three main units: crushing, screening, and conveying and feeding. Dedicated equipment is used to classify and transfer the raw materials by particle size, providing qualified materials for the subsequent calcination process.

I. Crushing Process

The raw materials first pass through a receiving hopper equipped with a grizzly for preliminary screening to remove large foreign materials, and are then sent to coarse crushing equipment. After coarse crushing, the materials undergo secondary fine crushing and are then sent through a hopper to the screening stage.

Core control indicator: Material particle size. Commonly used crushing equipment:

1. Jaw Crusher: Mainly used for coarse crushing of large-sized raw materials, with a large processing capacity;

2. Hammer Crusher: Used for medium crushing, with adjustable discharge particle size;

3. Impact Crusher: Produces well-shaped crushed products and is suitable for carbon aggregate preparation;

4. Toothed Double-Roll Crusher: Used for fine crushing, with less over-crushing and suitable for controlling aggregate particle size.

II. Screening Process

The crushed materials are classified by particle size to separate aggregates of different specifications and meet the requirements for scientifically controlled batching in carbon production. Mainstream screening equipment used in the carbon industry:

1. Vibrating Screen: The most widely used, with a large processing capacity and reliable classification;

2. Rotary Screen: Suitable for pre-screening coarse particles, with stable operation;

3. Gyratory Screen: Provides high screening accuracy and good classification performance for fine materials.

III. Conveying and Feeding Process

This process is responsible for material transfer between the crushing and screening units, as well as quantitative feeding during the batching process and conveying of finished materials. Due to the high dust levels in carbon workshops, enclosed conveying equipment is preferred. Commonly used conveying and feeding equipment:

1. Bucket Elevator: Used for vertical lifting of materials;

2. Sealed Belt Conveyor: Used for long-distance horizontal conveying;

3. Enclosed Belt Scraper Conveyor: Supports multi-point discharge and provides enclosed, dust-controlled conveying;

4. Tubular Screw Conveyor: Used for powder conveying, with a compact structure;

5. Enclosed Vibrating Feeder: Provides quantitative feeding and ensures a stable material supply to the batching system.
